March Women's Club Meeting

March Women's Club Meeting

Thursday, March 13, 2025 (11:30 AM - 1:00 PM) (CDT)

Description

Inspiring Global Change Through Women’s Stories
A showcase of a selection of short films from the ConnectHER Film Festival, a global platform that amplifies young women’s voices through storytelling. These films not only highlight critical social issues but also spark conversations and drive real-world impact. We’ll explore how these powerful narratives inspire change and empower the next generation of filmmakers and changemakers.

About the Presenter
Lila Igram has spent the last decade developing global platforms to facilitate investment in initiatives led by local and indigenous women and girls. She founded ConnectHER, which has provided more than $1.5 million to support local efforts & scholarships and showcased the work of more than 2000 young, female filmmakers at their annual Film Festival and at screenings throughout the globe. Prior to founding ConnectHER, Lila received a degree in Economics from the University of Iowa and worked for the advocacy organization, FLOW which is dedicated to the furtherance of the Conscious Capitalism movement.

About the GAACC Women’s Club
The Women's Club is our monthly member meetup in the GAACC where leaders in the community come together to share a meal at one of our member restaurants, while enjoying a leadership presentation or talk. The meetups usually last an hour and a half, with the first 30 minutes dedicated for networking and the next hour for the presentation. Other than these leadership lunches, we also host wellness events from time to time, where the topic of focus is on women's physical and mental health. The GAACC Women's Club is led by our 2025 GAACC Women's Club Captain, Saamiya Seraj, co-founder of A Better Force

Come join us for our next event! The Women's Club events are free to paid members of the GAACC, and cost only $15 for non-members.

NOTE: Anyone registering for this event who is not a current GAACC member will receive a complimentary Associate-level membership to the Greater Austin Asian Chamber of Commerce. By registering, you agree to receive email communications from the Greater Austin Asian Chamber of Commerce.
