Controller

WHO WE'RE LOOKING FOR

The Controller reports directly to the Executive Vice President, Chief Financial & Risk Officer. This position will be responsible for developing, implementing, and maintaining accounting principles, practices, and procedures in compliance with GASB and Governmental GAAP. The Controller supervises the accounting staff and is responsible for managing the team to ensure that work is properly allocated and completed in a timely and accurate manner. This position addresses tight deadlines and a multitude of accounting activities including annual audit support.

WHAT YOU BRING

• Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting or Finance.
• Five (5) years’ experience in a senior-level finance or accounting management position.
• Eight (8) years of progressively responsible accounting experience in a medium to large organization.
• Certified Public Accountant (required)
• Certified Public Finance Officer designation (preferred)

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:

• Knowledge of finance, accounting, budgeting, and cost control principles including Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP), Governmental Accounting Standards Board (GASB), and Financial Accounting Standards Board (FASB).
• Knowledge of general accounting procedures, including general ledger, accounts payable, accounts receivable and payroll processes and systems. Knowledge of laws, rules and regulations affecting the accounting department.
• Experience with enterprise resource planning (ERP) financials systems for a medium to large organization.
• Team management skills to fully leverage talents of diverse people working together, and conflict management to deal with complex or sensitive situations and ensure the positive image of CapMetro.
