Education Specialist

• Be the first point of contact and coordinate communication with programs for referrals and class registration.
• Update Virtual Learning Class curriculum and be the lead trainer for this class series.
• Collaborate with Education Program Team in the design and implementation of standard operational procedures for communication and delivery of training in virtual learning and in person environments.
• Teach Education Program Life Skill classes, Refugee Cultural Orientation Classes, Job Readiness Class Series, Gender Dialogue class series, and Workforce Related Classes: Food Industry Employment and Training (FIET and Introduction to the Hospitality Industry (IHI) and any future class that is added to the class catalog.
• Participate in the design and update of program curricula.
• Keep updated and accurate information in the Education database.
• Register clients for internal education program classes and enter information into client database.
• Assist clients with basic computer support.
• Participate in community meetings, in World Refugee Day and other events to advocate for Caritas clients.
• Prepare training material and deliver in a virtual leaning environment.
• Train and assist to be able to attend sessions in a virtual learning environment.

• Required: Minimum of one year of experience in adult education training or administration serving diverse population.

• Experience with internet, MS Office, and databases required.
• Experience using Canvas for at least one year
• Knowledge in uploading videos on YouTube (thumbnails, playlists, basic video editing) Provide clients with basic computer support.
• Familiarity in designing training material for adults

• Fully bilingual and proficient to deliver training in English and one of the following foreign languages.
• Spanish (preferred), Pashto, Dari, Ukrainian.

• Regular work hours and days assigned based on a work week of 40 hours, with a few evening or Saturday events through the year.
• Position is on-site at Caritas of Austin downtown location.

• Base Salary Range: $42,230 - $48,400.
