Senior Director of Technology

LifeWorks of Austin, TX is looking for a Senior Director of Technology to join our Information Technology team! The Sr. Director of Technology leads the development and implementation of the Technology department’s strategy and services, which includes effective management of IT infrastructure and software solutions.  This role supports the maintenance and continued development of the agency’s CRM system, Microsoft Dynamics D365.  The Sr. Director of Technology provides leadership and expertise regarding the ways Information Technology and Systems Integration can support the Agency’s strategic goals and operational objectives. This leadership role manages direct reports as well as external technical vendors and consultants while ensuring excellence in the delivery of Technology services that support the Agency’s mission.


This full time, exempt position earns a competitive rate ranging from $143,057.49-$156,330.87 depending upon experience. Benefits also include 24 PTO days per year (accrued); quarterly recharge days which do not count against your PTO; 11 paid holidays per year; a premium-free employee medical plan with $100 per month HSA contribution (plus other affordable employee or family medical, dental, and vision options!); a retirement savings plan with 50% match on the first 6% of contributions, and much more!  


RESPONSIBILITIES

Leadership

  • Consults with the Agency’s Executive Team, program and department teams, regarding the planning and implementation of operational initiatives and strategic directions that are impacted by technology.
  • Analyzes current capacity and future technology requirements of the agency, researches and evaluates emerging trends and tools, and anticipates and adopts innovations in relevant areas of technology and business intelligence.
  • Communicates effectively with all staff by translating technical specifications into non-technical language and vice versa as needed to ensure satisfactory outcomes.
  • Develops and manages the Information Technology operating and capital budget. Responsible for the hiring, orientation, training, supervision, evaluation, and dismissal of direct reports in accordance with Agency policies and procedures. Ensures staff are informed, their activities are well coordinated, and they have the necessary resources to carry out their work.

Systems Integration

  • Continuously analyzes and optimizes processes and infrastructure across D365 and other Agency applications to enhance system performance and user experience.
  • Oversees the design, development, testing, documentation, and maintenance of D365 solutions, ensuring they align with the organization’s strategic objectives and meet client documentation needs and funder performance reporting requirements.
  • Performs analysis and develops plans for integration of separate applications across platforms as well as for interfaces with external systems.
  • Drives the delivery of data insights, analytics, and visualizations using D365 and associated data solutions, tailored to the unique internal and external needs of the organization. 
  • Oversees the selection, development, maintenance, and support of software products and applications throughout the Agency.
  •  Supports agency performance reporting and ensures D365 solutions meet reporting requirement needs. 

Information Technology

  • Develops, implements, and monitors technology policies and controls to ensure legal and regulatory compliance, as well as hardware, software, data security and control.
  • Ensures hardware and software inventories are maintained and outdated inventory is properly disposed of according to Agency policy and regulatory requirements.
  • Negotiates and manages contracts and relationships with third party technology vendors and consultants using Agency procurement policies and contracting procedures.
  • Collaborates with Agency leaders and technology department staff to communicate project plans, issue lists, and status reports and manages expectations, timelines, and risks throughout project life cycles.
  • Proactively plans for, monitors, detects, and mitigates threats (phishing emails, viruses, malware, ransomware).
  • Develops, maintains, and tests a technology disaster plan that aligns with the Agency disaster plan.
  • Audits technology use to ensure and enforce compliance with security, confidentiality, agency policy and regulatory requirements.

Digital Transformation

  • Leads the development and implementation of digital transformation strategies, ensuring alignment with the Agency’s strategic goals. This includes the integration of AI, data analytics, and other emerging technologies to enhance operations and service delivery.
  • Identifies opportunities and oversees integration where digital tools can enhance operations, decision-making, and service delivery, and develop actionable plans to integrate these solutions.
  • Provides expertise and guidance on best practices in digital transformation with a focus on ethical considerations, data governance, and compliance with regulatory requirements.

QUALIFICATIONS

  • Bachelor’s Degree in a Technology related field; and
  • Requires 8 years related experience, including at least 3 in Business Systems; or
  • Equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Requires 3 years of supervisory experience.
  • Must have experience using Power BI (preferred), Tableau, Business Objects, or similar reporting tools.
  • Must have experience using programming languages, such as JavaScript (preferred), HTML, SQL, VBA or similar.
  • Must have working knowledge in Project Management, Network Administration, Information Security, and O365.
  • Highly Preferred experience using Microsoft Power Platform, including Dynamics 365.
